The web development bible. With free tutorials in all web development technologies and a very easy lookup system for when you forget something, W3Schools is an essential site for anybody learning how to build websites.

A textbook that helps teach HTML and CSS to students from 8 years old and up. The first chapter is available online for free, but sadly the authors (Ian Simmons and Will Moore) do not offer a completely free online version. The book costs £11.99.
